Aleksandr Feduta – laureate of the XIII Lew Sapieha Award

On April 4, 2018 in the Senate Hall of the Kazimierzowski Palace, the XIII Lew Sapieha Award ceremony took place. This year’s laureate was Aleksandr Feduta from Minsk.

The ceremony was opened by the Vice-rector, Maciej Duszczyk, and led by the director Jan Malicki. During the ceremony, polonaise „Pożegnanie Ojczyzny” by Michał Kleofas Ogiński was traditionally played.

Dyr Jan Malicki talked about the idea of the Award and presented the figure of its patron. Then, Marcin Przydacz from read the congratulatory letter from the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. As every year, the President took the honorary patronage over the Award.

The laureate, Aleksand Feduta, gave a lecture titled „Forms of the Belarusian-Polish cultural borderland during the Russian Empire: the process of shaping identity.”
