Since 1981 the editorial team of the „Obóz” journal was publishing the „Obóz Library” book series. In the frames of this series numerous works have been published – for the first time, still in the underground (among others): „Utopia u Władzy” („Utopia in Power”) by M. Heller and A. Niekric, „Zarys historii Ukrainy w XX w.” („History of Ukraine in the XX c.”) by T. Olszański as well as famous memoirs of Menachem Begin „Białe noce” („White Nights”). In 1988 a book by Marek Śliwiński „Zbrodnia – kłamstwo – amnezja. Rewolucja Czerwonych Khmerów w Kambodży” („Crime – Lie – Amnesia. Khmer Rouge Revolution in Cambodia”) was published. This volume ended the „Obóz Library”. It was replaced by a a new series, albeit with similar interest – BIBLIOTHECA EUROPAE ORIENTALIS.
The books published within its frames have been divided into three sections: I. Studia, II. Fontes and III. Didactica. More than 28 volumes have been published so far as part of the series, including works authored or edited by the Centre’s academic staff.
All our volumes can be ordered directly from the Bolesław Prus bookshop website.
