On December 8-10, 2017, scholars and graduates of Konstanty Kalinowski Scholarship Program met in Jachranka at the Annual Congress of Scholarship and Graduates of the Polish Government-sponsored Konstanty Kalinowski Scholarship Program.
The opening ceremony of the Congress was attended by the director of the K.Kalinowski Program as well as CEES UW Jan Malicki and a representative of the Defense Committee of the Solidarność and at the same time a candidate in the elections for the President of Belarus in 2006, mr Aliaksandr Milinkevich. They both gave welcome speeches addressed to the participants of the Congress.
The substantive part of the Congress was divided into two parts – panels on the history and present of Belarus. Siarhei Tokć, Hienadz Sahanowicz and Hienadz Siemianczuk spoke about the Belarusian tradition of statehood. Anton Saifullayeu, Andrei Czarniakiewicz and Swiatłan Kul-Sialwerstaw talked about the present, analyzing the subject: Minsk and the rest: On the relations of the center-periphery in Belarus.
The congress ended on Sunday.
