Józef Piłsudski Square in Gori

On 5-7 December, the representatives of Centre for East European Studies: Director Jan Malicki, Dr. David Kolbaia, Aleksandra Gryźlak paid visit to Georgia. Daria Szlezyngier, the secretary of the Caucasus Station, accompanied them.

The main reason for the visit was participation in the opening ceremony of the Józef Piłsudski Square in the city of Gori. The square was established thanks to the initiative of Centre for East European Studies and the financial support of the Polish Embassy in Tbilisi. During the ceremony Poland was represented by Mariusz Maszkiewicz, Polish Ambassador in Georgia, Jan Malicki, Centre`s director, dr David Kolbaia, Aleksandra Gryźlak, and Daria Szlezyngier as well as representatives of the Pomeranian Province and the Kartuzy district. The Georgia was represented, among others, by the mayor of Gori Konstantine Tawzaraszwili and the former mayor of Zurab Dzirkelishvili, the governor of the Inner Charter of Kacha Samcharadze and the rector of the State Pedagogical University in Gori.
