The celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the former Astronomical and Meteorological Observatory of the University of Warsaw have come to an end.
On December 18, 2018 in the ballroom of the Potocki Palace, the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the former Astronomical and Meteorological Observatory of the University of Warsaw took place.
The ceremony was attended by people involved in the reconstruction project of the Observatory, friends of the Centre for East European Studies and enthusiasts of the Carpathians. Among the guests were Deputy Head of the Chancellery of the Sejm Adam Podgórski, Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Władysław Ortyl, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural and Public Diplomacy Andrzej Fąfara, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Investment and Development Adam Hamryszczak, as well as rectors of colleges associated with the Collegium Capathicum project, researchers and scientists.
During the ceremony, the premiere of the film „Obserwatorium” directed by Wiesław Romanowski took place. The film presents the history of the Observatory, the details of the reconstruction project as well as plans for the future use.
