“Euscaro-Caucasica. Ibero-Caucasian and Basque Languages and Old Georgian Literature”
I. The conference will focus on language and literature issues. In case of language issue we would like to discuss the topic of Ibero-Caucasian and Basque languages, and genetic relationships of the Basque language with the Kartvelian (Georgian) language. During this conference we are going to find an answer for the question when the Basques lost its contact with the other Kartvelian tribes; and to reconstruct the history of this process, assuming that the relationship of the studied languages testifies to the existence of their original relationship based on the ethnic/tribal community using these languages.
II. Concerning the second issue, the conference will be a good place for searchers and scholars to meet and exchange of thoughts, who are interested in Old Georgian Literature and want to study original Georgian Literature – Hagiographic, Hymnographic and Philosophical.
