Polonicum distinction for dr David Kolbaia
On November 20, 2017, the Polonicum Award ceremony was held at the Ballroom of the Tyszkiewicz-Potocki Palace. Every year, the award is given to outstanding foreign scholars who have a significant influence on popularizing knowledge about Polish culture, history and language.
During this year’s ceremony, special distinction received
Dr David Kolbaia,
Head of the Caucasian Seminary at the Centre for East European Studies
Dr. Kolbaia is not only an outstanding kartvelologist, but also an promoter of building Polish-Georgian relations on education, politics and culture. Dr Kolbaia`s work allows Poles and Georgians to learn the history and culture of both nations, for which the Chapter of the Polonicum Prize decided to confer on him the distinctive distinction.
