XI Jerzy Giedroyc Award
XI Jerzy Giedroyc Award is organized annually by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kiev. Every year, the jury choose the best BA, MA, PhD thesis on the history and present of Poland and Polish-Ukrainian relations, defended at any university in Ukraine in academic year 2016/17.
The deadline for the Jerzy Giedroyc Award applications is July 9, 2017.
This year total prize pool is €3 000.
PhD thesis
1st prize – €1.000
2nd prize – €500
3rd prize – €300
MA thesis
1st prize – €300
2nd prize – €250
3rd prize – €200
BA thesis
1st prize – €200
2nd prize – €150
3rd prize – €100
To participate in this year’s edition of the Jerzy Giedroyc Award, please send to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kiev:
- A bachelor, master’s or doctoral thesis about to Polish history, contemporary Poland or Ukrainian-Polish relations, defended at any Ukrainian university in academic year 2016/2017 (both in electronic and hard copy);
- Short summary (resume or essay)
- Your C.V.
Deadline for applications is 9 July 2017.
The Ukrainian citizenship is required to take part in the competition.
This year`s edition offers an additional prize for the first prize winners in the category of doctoral and master’s theses – one-month academic stay in Warsaw, organized by Centre for East European Studies of the University of Warsaw.
Parts of the best works will be published in the international yearbook Польські студії, issued by the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Centre for East European Studies of the University of Warsaw.
