Iwan Wyhowski Award ceremony
On Monday, 22 May 2017, in the University`s Senate Hall the Iwan Wyhowski Award ceremony was held. The ceremony was led by Vice-Rector Maciej Duszczyk and director Jan Malicki.
The ceremony was honoured by Ambassador Urszula Doroszewska, who read the letter from Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland. During the ceremony, the letter form Marshal Mark Kuchciński was also read.
The main award was received by prof. Ihor Sribniak from Kiev. Prof. Sribniak is an author of over than 140 scientific and didactic publications and the Editor in Chief of scientific journals „Ukrainian Orientalism” and „The Vistula and the Dnieper.” Poland and Ukraine in the past „.
His research interests have focused on Polish-Ukrainian relations in the interwar period.
During the ceremony, 10 other scientists were awarded. They will have an opportunity of a 4-month-long academic stay at two Polish universities.
