Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University of Warsaw announces a competition for the post of Assistant Professor with habilitation in a group of research and teaching staff at the Centre for East European Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Number of posts – one, fulltime position, from 1/X.2021
Discipline – History

We require from the candidate for this position:
post-doctoral degree
deep knowledge of history and contemporary issues in the area of Central Europe;
knowledge of culture, literature, and ethnic problems of Central Europe;
good knowledge of one of the regional languages (Czech, Slovenian, Hungarian, Romanian);
good knowledge of English (alt. another congress language);
experience in conducting academic classes, the subject of which covered the area of Central Europe;
experience in organizing and managing international relations;
experience in preparing and implementation scientific projects;
academic achievements and publications concerning problematics of Central Europe;
unblemished opinion in terms of personal attitude, a researcher and academic teacher;
declaring the University of Warsaw as the first place of employment

Basic duties
• didactics in the Centre for East European Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies from 1/X.2021
• research in the History and Political Science and Administration

declaration of acceptance of the rules for conducting competitions for the position of an academic teacher at the University of Warsaw available at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University of Warsaw;
opinion of an academic teacher holding a title or academic degree;
other documents relevant to the case / on the initiative of the candidate.

The competition is the first stage specified in the Statute of the University of Warsaw for the recruitment procedure as an academic teacher, and its positive resolution is the basis for further proceedings.
The documents will be accepted at the secretariat of the Center for East European Studies, Potocki Palace, Krakowskie Przedmieście 32, entrance C. room C10 between 09.00-16.00, except Saturdays and public holidays, until January 15, 2021.

The competition will be resolved by January 25, 2021.
Candidates will be informed about the result by email.
